Christopher has been instructing my son and daughter since 2011. They both enjoy learning from him very much. He is patient with their learning curve while simultaneously challenging them to get better. He has been especially effective with my daughter who has autism. It’s great to have him right here in the neighborhood! – Steve

Mr. Christopher (as my 6 yr son says) is an excellent piano instructor. He is very patient and makes learning fun. My son has been going for 2 months and has gone from” I don’t want to go to piano” to “I can’t wait to go.” This is attributed to Mr. Christopher’s attitude, skill, and humor. My son looks forward to being a little Beethoven and so do we! – Barry & Malti

My name is Henry, and I am learning piano with Christopher. I have just turned 6, and I am in first grade. I think Christopher is very nice and teaches me to play the piano gracefully. I love to go to my lessons. I love to practice, and I love music.

I think that Christopher is a great teacher, and if anyone wants to learn piano, he is the guy you want to be taught by. I used to take lessons with other teachers, and when I started taking lessons with him, I thought that he was WAY better! He is very patient even if you are not playing your song right. I think he is an awesome teacher. – Asher, student

All three of our kids are students of Christopher’s and we couldn’t be more pleased with their progress. Other parents have been shocked at how well they play for their experience level. – Melissa, parent

He’s a good piano teacher because he doesn’t just teach us how to play piano. He teaches us about composers. – Henry, age 8

He’s a great piano teacher because he hangs up informational posters that we make about the cool composers that we look up and research. – Lydia, age 10

“Let’s start now!”…and so I was introduced to Christopher Narloch and started my piano journey two and a half years ago…less than 10 minutes after walking into his studio for an enquiry about lessons, I was seated at the piano bench as his newest student! I use the words “piano journey” as working with Christopher has been a more than just ‘lessons’…he has exposed me to the world’s great pianists through the CSO’s Piano Series and thru his own dynamic and eclectic studio performances and performances throughout Chicago with Constellation, Mocrep, Fonema Consort, and others. Christopher’s studio is a fixture in the Ravenswood Manor neighborhood of Chicago and he is an active member of the local arts scene and universities. Christopher’s teaching style is one of patience and flexibility, while still demanding rigor and an emphasis to detail. He works with all of his students, young and old, beginner and experienced, with passion and warmth. I am proud to call Christopher my teacher and friend. – Chris, adult student

Christopher is a young enthusiastic teacher, with the goal to teach his students. He is very approachable, patient, and likes working with children. He works with the local community to arrange for venues where his students can play. Christopher is an integral part of our community, bringing both enthusiasm and creativity. – Daniel, parent

Christopher is such a wonderful piano teacher for my two young sons. He brings a remarkable calm and patience to learning to read music and play piano. Just as important, he has given them an excitement and appreciation for music that goes far beyond their lesson books. Christopher is encouraging in all the right ways, while always keeping it fun – the annual Halloween costume recital is the best! And as a parent, I am so appreciative that Christopher values great communication to families and runs such a well-organized studio. We are lucky to have found Christopher! – Sarah

My son Dylan was six years old when he took his first piano lesson with Christopher Narloch. He was nervous the entire day before the lesson and he cried and begged me not to make him take piano right before I dropped him off. He told me that he can’t understand piano teachers and that he was afraid to make a mistake. Dylan had taken about a year’s worth of piano lessons at our home with my Russian music teacher when he was four, and although the lessons where always at home and I myself have never had issues with my teacher, I never realized the negative impact that teacher’s methods had on my son until that first day. I told Dylan that he can try a lesson with Mr. Narloch for that one time, but he would never have to take piano again if he didn’t enjoy it. When I picked my son up he was all smiles and said he couldn’t wait for his next lesson. Dylan is now thirteen years old and still plays the piano. Though there have been times when basketball and video games have competed with practice time, Christopher Narloch has nurtured his love of playing music with patience and encouragement. – Marie

Christopher Narloch has a talent for teaching piano to students both young and old (like me). As a 62 year old piano student, my goal is to improve my ability to read music through my hands on the piano keyboard….and ultimately, to make a piece sound musical. This takes a lot of practice, and even when my practice time is lacking, Chris is patient and understanding. I enjoy talking to him about the background of the piece which I am learning, and his knowledge of composers and musical theory adds to my understanding of the music. Christopher has also proven himself to be a great addition to our neighborhood. The annual Narloch Piano Studio summer piano recital in the park is attended by many and is a highly anticipated event. – Linda

We have really enjoyed seeing our daughter blossom at piano with Mr. Narloch. In just one year’s worth of lessons she’s gone from not being able to read a note, to playing two-handed and with chords. The joy on her face when she put it together the first time on her own was sheer delight and worth the hard work. He’s patient but firm in his expectations and manages young attention spans well. His regular recitals and performances are wonderful for building confidence within his students and introducing them to new musical experiences as well. We’re delighted to have found such a wonderful resource and teacher. -Siouxzi, mom to Lorelei, age 5

Mr. Narloch has a lovely space where some projects of new music had been created. The delicacy of how the studio set us is, I can see why kids love it! – Pablo, professional oboist

The amount of care and investment Christopher has for his young private students and piano studio is really unmatched. – Peter, professional percussionist
