- Teaching PhilosophyI teach because I want to share my passion for music with as many people as possible. My love for working with people can also be expressed through music making. It is this profound communication that inspires me to do as much as I can in my profession. Each and every individual has the right to discover music. I am incredibly grateful for every time that I have the opportunity to help each person’s inner creativity grow. My teaching allows students to be engaged and to think actively. I like to ask them questions and I encourage them to come up with new and creative ideas. This also helps me know what the student is thinking so that we can work together as a team. Students should be able to reach for their own goals, and with my guidance, they have the opportunity to achieve them.

Founded in 2007, 10th & Broadway (a clarinet ensemble) has built a significant catalogue of clarinet chamber music through targeted commissioning initiatives, and has performed this repertoire at State, Regional, National, and International-level conferences. Originally established at Columbus State University’s Schwob School of Music, 10th & Broadway is unwavering in its mission to cultivate new repertoire for clarinet by collaborating with today’s most exciting composers. They have premiered numerous works to date, and have been featured at the International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest, the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, the Music Teachers National Association Convention, and in classrooms across America. 10th & Broadway is deeply committed to leading performances and chamber music workshops at educational institutions, community centers, and religious centers in an effort to educate fresh audiences and inspire future generations.
